Finding Our Voice

Celebrating Australia in sound.

Finding Our Voice commissioned eight Australian artists to create an ambitious new musical composition.

Each new creation was presented live in an iconic Australian venue, and the performances were recorded and filmed for presentation on the project's website.

In addition to all the performance films, the website also hosts films about the making of each new work — a series called Giving Voice, which shares stories about the composers and creators. And, there are rich educational resources for composing music, inspired by each commission.

Finding Our Voice is supported by UKARIA, the Australian Government's Restart Investment to Sustain and Expand (RISE) Fund, and the following individuals and foundations: Ulrike Klein AO, Berg Family Foundation, The Yulgilbar Foundation, The Aranday Foundation, Playking Foundation and Julie Kantor AO.

"Australia is rich in brilliant music makers. Finding Our Voice creates a national portrait in sound of our most exciting composers, working in wildly diverse ways. Listening to them helps us to hear, celebrate and connect with one another, and our country."
